A new course by BBC Maestro features a truly renowned teacher: the famous British mystery writer Agatha Christie.
Through AI, Christie was brought to life to teach the course, focused on creative writing. The portrayal was done by a real actress, but her appearance was modified to look like the writer with the help of artificial intelligence.

“We had only one requirement: that her words were used, and that her image and voice resembled hers,” said James Prichard, the writer’s great-grandson and CEO of Agatha Christie Ltd.
To write the scripts for the lessons, the team based them on excerpts from Christie’s archives to avoid creating dialogue or ideas that weren’t hers. Therefore, AI was only used to change the voice and appearance, with no interference in the content or teaching method.
